You can typically drive on your new asphalt within 24-48 hours, but we recommend waiting a week before parking heavy vehicles or turning sharp wheels on the surface.
Asphalt handles freeze-thaw cycles much better than concrete. When water gets into concrete and freezes, it expands and cracks the surface. Asphalt is flexible enough to move with temperature changes without breaking.
Asphalt is also easier and cheaper to repair. If you get a crack or pothole, we can patch it with hot or cold mix materials. Concrete repairs usually require cutting out sections and pouring new concrete, which is expensive and often doesn’t match the existing surface.
For winter maintenance, asphalt provides better traction than concrete and is less likely to become dangerously slippery. Salt and deicing chemicals are also less harmful to asphalt than to concrete.
Late spring through early fall gives us the best conditions for asphalt installation. We need ground temperatures above 50 degrees and dry conditions for proper compaction and curing.
We can do excavation and base preparation work in cooler weather, then return to install the asphalt when conditions improve. This approach lets us get your project started even if the timing isn’t perfect for the final paving.

Yes, we provide sealcoating services to protect and extend the life of your asphalt driveway. Sealcoating should be done every 2-3 years depending on traffic and weather exposure.
Proper sealcoating protects against water penetration, UV damage, and chemical spills. In our climate, it’s especially important because it helps prevent freeze-thaw damage and makes your driveway easier to maintain.
We recommend waiting at least 6 months after new asphalt installation before applying the first sealcoat. This allows the asphalt to cure properly and ensures the sealcoat adheres correctly for maximum protection.
We stand behind our work with a comprehensive warranty that covers materials and workmanship. Specific warranty terms depend on the scope of your project and are detailed in your contract.
Our warranty covers structural failures, premature cracking due to installation issues, and drainage problems caused by improper grading. Normal wear, damage from heavy vehicles exceeding design limits, and damage from tree roots or ground movement aren’t covered.
